Privacy Policy for DialedIn MTB
Last updated: September 23, 2026
The short version: DialedIn MTB doesn't have a server, doesn't collect analytics, and doesn't show ads. Everything you enter — your bikes, components, service history, setup profiles, and imported rides — stays on your device and, if you enable iCloud, syncs privately through your own iCloud account. We (the developer) never see it, store it on our own servers, or share it with anyone.
Information we collect
DialedIn MTB does not require an account, login, or any personal information to use. We do not operate a backend server, and no data you enter into DialedIn MTB is ever transmitted to us.
All app data — bikes, components, service records, service intervals, setup profiles, suspension bracket-test sessions, imported rides, trail segments, and trail catalog entries — is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework.
iCloud sync
If you're signed into iCloud, DialedIn MTB uses Apple's CloudKit framework to back up and sync your data across your own devices. This data is stored in your private iCloud database, governed by Apple's privacy policy. The developer of DialedIn MTB has no access to this data — it is encrypted and tied to your Apple Account, not to us. Turning off iCloud for DialedIn MTB, or deleting the app, removes it from sync going forward.
Location
DialedIn MTB asks for one-time, "while using the app" location access solely to center the map on the Rides tab near you when you open it. Your location is used in the moment, on your device, and is never stored, logged, or transmitted anywhere. You can deny or revoke this permission at any time in iOS Settings without losing any app functionality other than map auto-centering.
Imported files (GPX rides)
When you import a .gpx ride file — either by picking a file or by using the Share Sheet from another app — DialedIn MTB reads and processes that file entirely on your device to compute distance, elevation, and duration. The file itself is copied into the app's private storage and is not uploaded anywhere.
What we don't do
- No account creation or sign-in
- No analytics or usage tracking SDKs
- No advertising or ad SDKs
- No sale or sharing of your data with third parties
- No cross-app or cross-website tracking
Notifications
DialedIn MTB can send you local reminders (for example, when a service is due or overdue) using Apple's on-device notification system. These are scheduled entirely on your device and don't involve any server or push service on our end.
Children's privacy
DialedIn MTB is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from children.
Your data, your control
Since DialedIn MTB doesn't hold a copy of your data on any server, deleting the app (and, if you wish, your iCloud data for DialedIn MTB via Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage) removes your data completely. There is nothing further for us to delete on our end, because we never had it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes — for example, if a future version of DialedIn MTB adds a new feature that changes how data is handled — we'll update this page and revise the date at the top.
